The Faith Militant is the armed wing of the Faith of the Seven, re-established by the High Sparrow during the tumultuous period following the War of the Five Kings. Composed of two distinct orders—the Warrior's Sons, also known as the Swords, and the Poor Fellows, called the Stars—this military force served to enforce the High Septon's authority, protect pilgrims and the faithful, and exert the Faith's influence over the politics of King's Landing. Its revival marked a significant shift in the balance of power within the capital, as the Faith Militant became a formidable and independent armed presence, answerable only to the High Septon.

The Faith Militant was divided into two main orders. The Warrior's Sons were knights and men-at-arms of noble birth, clad in silver plate armor and rainbow cloaks, who served as the elite guard of the Faith. Their shields bore the device of a crystal sword shining in the darkness. The Poor Fellows, by contrast, were a ragged army of commoners, armed with a motley collection of weapons and armor, who wore roughspun surcoats blazoned with the seven-pointed star. Role in the Capital

Under the leadership of the High Sparrow, the Faith Militant became a dominant presence in King's Landing. They guarded the Great Sept of Baelor, patrolled the streets, and enforced the High Septon's decrees. Their most prominent role was in the imprisonment and trial of Queen Regent Cersei Lannister. The Warrior's Sons, commanded by Ser Theodan the True, served as her escort during her Walk of Atonement, forming a protective cordon around her as she was paraded naked through the city. The Poor Fellows were also present in large numbers, mingling with the crowds and ensuring order during the procession.
